Musée Imaginaire was a platform that used the model of Andre Malraux’s Museum Without Walls to open up a space for viewing, discussing, showcasing art across all disciplines and all boundaries, including the temporal. From painting to performance, film, literature, philosophy, poetry, music, theatre, theory, dance etc. etc. etc. Anything could be ‘exhibited’ within the museum. A nomadic gallery, forum, space for thinking that roamed Newcastle upon Tyne with disparate events in incronguous spaces.

Tim Shaw: Augmented Sound Walk

Whilst walking through a meandering route throught the city, through wireless headphones, participants listened to the layers of live recordings, that were looped and distorted by the artist as they went. This was accompanied by a CD recording of the piece and a short essay by myself.
