Skin is a short video that attempts to unload onto the screen a subconscious, irrational fever-dream about architecture, the body and mental health; emphasising the porous boundaries between the matter that Neoliberal Capitalism has fostered since its inception. It is also a kind of non-verbal translation of a largely failed performance-lecture called ‘When the City Is...’ (2015) in Newcastle. The majority of the filming for Skin was executed alone within the same small gallery space used for the lecture, over a five day period of improvisation. It is a companion piece to ‘To Commemorate...’ (2016).
